“Talking textile” è il titolo di una mostra che si è aperta durante la scorsa edizione del Salone del Mobile (Milano, Aprile 2011) e che ha visto come curatrice Li Edelkoort, nota trend forecaster.
Speriamo ci perdonerete la nostra segnalazione un po’ “tardiva”, ma nel riguardare questa intervista abbiamo riflettuto su come la presenza dei tessuti nelle nostre case e nella nostra vita quotidiana sia di fondamentale importanza. “I tessuti ci parlano - spiega la Edelkoort - e noi dobbiamo parlare dei tessuti”.
I tessuti come nostri interlocutori, quindi. Ci abbracciano, ci alimentano, innalzano il nostro spirito attraverso i colori e le loro finiture tattili. Secondo Edelkoort, stiamo assistendo ad uno tsunami del tessile, che ci sta investendo tornando indietro dal passato, quando, con l’avvento delle plastiche negli anni Settanta, i tessuti erano usciti dai nostri interni.
Sempre di più avvertiamo la necessità di essere avvolti da calde sensazioni, come in un guscio riscopriamo la vera origine delle emozioni trasmesse dai nostri sensi.
Avventuratevi nella delicatezza e nello spessore dei tessuti che, per esempio, indossate. A patto che siano di buona qualità...

We hope you will forgive us our message a little '"late", but in this interview we reflected on how the presence of the fabrics in our homes and in our daily lives is of paramount importance. “Textiles talk to us,” (hence the exhibition title, Talking Textiles) – explains Edelkoort – “and we must talk about textiles".
The fabrics as our partners, so. They embrace us, feed us, build our spirit through colors and their finishing touch. According Edelkoort, we are witnessing a full-on textile tsunami, a surge from the past because textiles disappeared from our interiors in the 1970s with the advent of plastics.
More and more we feel the need to be wrapped in warm feelings, as in a shell rediscover the true origin of emotions transmitted by our senses.
Go deep in the delicacy and thickness of the clothes, for example, you wear. As long as they are made of good quality ...
